Our Review Editorial
A routine domestic flight comes apart in ways no manual covers, as inexplicable phenomena, failing technology and something alien turn the cabin into a nightmare with no ground beneath it. The film leans hard into the surreal, letting the boundary between what is happening and what cannot possibly be happening dissolve while the passengers fight to stay alive. Its guiding question, posed by the tagline, is simply what became of Flight 298.
Aimed at viewers who like their horror unmoored and their science fiction weird, especially anyone who enjoys a plane used as a haunted house. Eighty-five minutes keeps the escalation constant, favouring atmosphere, dread and strangeness over tidy explanation. Expect to be disoriented on purpose. A good late-night pick if you can tolerate ambiguity, though nervous flyers may want to schedule this one well away from any trip.
