The film promises crime picture and love story at the same temperature — a lovers-on-the-run structure in which the danger and the attraction keep arriving from the same source, and neither is easy to put down.
This one is for viewers with a taste for sun-bleached American crime romance: highways, motels, marks, and the constant question of who is playing whom. Expect character-led pacing over set pieces, chemistry doing most of the work, and a journey with an emotional destination underneath the criminal one. If you enjoy grifter stories where the real con might be the one told to yourself, it is an easy, atmospheric watch.
