Synopsis
In this 3rd installment Alex’s interest for Ninja missions is starting to vanish. He’ll rather spend his time with his friends and Checkered Ninja feels he is overlooked and is eager to engage in a new mission. The result of this is that Alex, by accident, ends up having a conflict with Marco, the bad boy boyfriend of Jessica, entangling him in a conflict he hasn’t asked for and he is pressured by Checkered Ninja to defend himself.
Our Review Editorial
Alex is growing up, and his appetite for ninja missions is fading fast, much to the dismay of Checkered Ninja, who feels sidelined and itches for one more adventure. That tension lands Alex in trouble when he accidentally crosses Marco, the bad-boy boyfriend of Jessica, and finds himself pressured into a conflict he never wanted. Returning creators Anders Matthesen and Thorbjorn Christoffersen mix animated action with everyday teen anxieties in this third outing of the popular Danish franchise.
Fast, funny and family-friendly, the film balances slapstick ninja antics with relatable growing pains about friendship, courage and standing your ground. The pacing keeps things lively for younger viewers while tucking in enough humor for the grown-ups tagging along. Fans of the previous adventures will feel right at home, and newcomers looking for breezy animated comedy with a little heart will find it an enjoyable ride.
