Nothing to Lose

Maternal desperation drives every frame. Jada fought hard to become a mother in the first place, so when her son falls ill and a donor becomes the only thing standing between him and the worst outcome, the question the film asks is simply how far she will go — and it clearly intends the answer to be uncomfortable. What begins as a domestic drama tilts toward thriller as the cost of saving him stops being financial and starts being moral.

A good fit for viewers who like character-driven thrillers about ordinary people crossing lines, particularly anyone drawn to stories that make a sympathetic protagonist do indefensible things. The pace builds steadily across an hour and three-quarters, leaning on emotional pressure rather than action beats.
