Our Review Editorial
Reformed and trying desperately to walk the straight line, the lovable rogues of The Bad Guys discover that going good is far harder than it looks. Their best intentions are upended when they're dragged into a globe-trotting heist orchestrated by a slick new crew called The Bad Girls. Directors Pierre Perifel and JP Sans keep the caper energy high, and a sharp voice ensemble including Anthony Ramos, Awkwafina, Craig Robinson and Marc Maron gives the gang plenty of crackling, comic chemistry.
Fast, funny and built for big laughs, this animated sequel mixes slapstick crime with a warm message about second chances. The pacing rarely lets up, bouncing from one slick set piece to the next while keeping the jokes family-friendly. It's an easy crowd-pleaser for kids and parents alike, and especially rewarding for anyone who fell for the first film's mismatched band of misfits.
