Our Review Editorial
An elopement to the coast goes badly wrong in this survival thriller, where an aspiring rapper from the outskirts of Mumbai and a well-off influencer end up stranded in the pool of a derelict resort with a crocodile circling. Like, share, survive, says the tagline, and the class friction between the two of them keeps sparking even as the situation narrows to the single question of getting out alive. It is a creature feature with a satirical undertow.
At two hours and twenty-five it takes its time setting the pair up before the water closes in, so viewers who want jaws immediately should know there is a romance and a culture clash to get through first. Once it commits, the confinement does its work well. Fans of animal-attack thrillers with personality, and of stories where the influencer age gets gently skewered, will enjoy the ride. Good, gnarly entertainment for a Saturday night crowd.
