Enter Lara, brilliant and disarming, and for a while the film takes the shape of a warm second-chance romance. Then the secrets surface, on both sides, and the tone tilts toward something more careful and more melancholy. The setup promises comfort; the fine print suggests the comfort will have to be earned.
A gentle, character-led drama for viewers who like family stories with adult complications woven through them. At ninety-three minutes it stays intimate, favouring conversation and small domestic negotiations over big incident, and the daughters keep the register from turning maudlin. Expect charm with an undertow, and a romance that is asked to carry more weight than it first appears to. Good company on a quiet evening when you want tenderness with a bruise in it.
