Synopsis

After Matt’s dreams of a picturesque Italian wedding are shattered when his fiancée leaves him at the altar, he embarks on his planned honeymoon across Italy alone, immersing himself in the country’s vibrant culture, food, and beauty, meeting Gia along the way.

Our Review Editorial

Left at the altar, Matt takes the honeymoon anyway, alone, across Italy, carrying an itinerary designed for two and a heart that has not caught up. It is a travel-shaped romantic comedy that leans hard into food, light and landscape, letting the country itself do the slow work of putting him back together until Gia enters the picture. The tagline about all roads leading to being left in Rome sets the register perfectly: rueful, sunny, happy to laugh at its own bruises.

For viewers who want warm romance with a strong sense of place, the sort of film that doubles as a holiday. It is a breezy 1h 36m and never mistakes itself for something heavier, moving from humiliation to appetite to possibility at an unhurried pace. Expect gorgeous scenery, second-chance charm, and a tone more affectionate than sharp. Put it on when you want to feel like you have gone somewhere.
