Our Review Editorial
Bumbling gangsters, ex-dons, and a supply of eccentric relatives all converge near a border forest in a setup staged with mock-military seriousness. The comedy comes from mismatch of scale, enormous posturing attached to people plainly unequipped for any of it, with an ensemble large enough that everybody's plan ends up obstructing somebody else's. There is no pretence of subtlety in the premise, and that is clearly the point: chaos assembled deliberately, then let loose in the trees.
This suits viewers who enjoy sprawling ensemble farce where the pleasure is watching a crowd collide rather than following one clean story. Expect broad performances, overlapping schemes, and a tone that stays loud from the opening. Fans of gangster spoofs and comedies stuffed with too many characters will be comfortable immediately, while anyone wanting a tight plot should adjust expectations. Put it on with a group that likes silliness and let the pile-up do the work.
